| How To Use the Canon Digital Camera To Take a Picture |

Basic Instructions Step 1: Turn the camera on. The power button is located on the top of the camera. (see figure 2) Step 2: Make sure the camera is in “camera” mode and not in “view” mode. (figure 1) Step 3: Turn the function wheel (figure 2) to Auto. You will know the camera is ready if you can read Auto properly without having to turn the camera. In figure 2, the function wheel is set to SCN. Step 4: Use the display screen or view finder (figure 1) to locate the item(s) you would like to take a picture of. Step 4: Use the zoom button (figure 2) to get a close up or wide shot of your item(s). You must turn the wheel to the right or left to make the zoom work. Step 5: Hold the shutter button (figure 2) down half-way. This allows the camera to focus on an object. You will hear a “beep” when it is in focus. Step 7: Depress the shutter all the way. The camera will make noise similar to when film cameras take pictures. You should also see your image in the view screen freeze. If the flash is on, this will take several seconds. |

| Toggle switch between camera (red camera) and view mode (blue play button). This button slides up and down. View finder: Use this for taking pictures if you have turned the display screen off. Display Screen (this can be turned off by pressing the DISP. Button). Turning off the display screen saves on batteries. |

| Power button: Used to turn the camera on or off. Function button: Used to select special features on the camera. The big wheel turns to change the options. Zoom button: The outer ring turns to the right or left to zoom in or out. Shutter button: Hold half-way down to focus. Hold fully down to take the picture. |
