The Tamith

By loyal Tamith Friend “MM”

She started as just a librarian but she became much more. She started by working at Fairview Elementary School as the librarian. But then, as the years went by, she got the nickname Tammy. T as in tornado (at times), A as in athletic, M as in marigold for the yellow flower she always had fresh on her desk and Y for yellow, her favorite color of all.

Over the years she became aunt or Auntie Tammy or The Tamith, a person who lived in a castle where she just had fun! She had Karaoke night, dances, bingo, and lots of parties! She also was a black belt in Karate so everyone was careful not to mess with her. But for the most part she was someone you had to have in your life.

The Tamith was very interesting; she had her own colors that were white and gold and an official animal which was the polar bear. She loved to hang with her friends and loved to read Harry Potter. But there was a lot more to know about the Tamith.

The castle in which she lived in was gold and white. I myself had never met the Tamith so I decided to go to one of her karaoke nights.

When I went through the golden gates I was amazed at the place.  The grass was perfect and she had fountains of flowers, children, and just little bowls all over the place. The man who was standing guard at the gate told me to just follow the white bricks to get to the castle. As I walked along the perfectly placed white bricks, I knew I was way underdressed. I knew from the appearance of the castle that my mini skirt and blue tank top.  But, as soon as I walked through the golden doors and onto the white marble floors my mind soon was of the subject of how I looked..  I saw that the walls were painted gold and covered in pictures. I continued walking down the hall lighted by torches. Then I finally reached her. The Tamith!!

She was wearing a red gown matching her red shoes. On her head she wore a golden crown with a red ruby in the middle, and she had a huge grin on her face.

When I approached her she said in a soft tender voice “Welcome, I’m Sarah Ann Tamith but you may call me Auntie Tammy or Queen Tamith, which ever you prefer,” I replied by saying “My name is Elizabeth Sue Fenneld.”

She replied by saying, “Please excuse me but I must go upstairs for a while. Everyone is down the hall to the left. I will be down shortly.” With nothing more she started to walk away.

I followed her instructions and went down the hall to meet the others.

When I was outside the doors I could hear lots of chatter, I knew this was the right room. I walked in and I saw at least 100 people. I walked over to the table and found a place to sit. I sat between two girls who didn’t seem to be shy at all. One immediately introduced herself as Skylar and the other as Clare. Before I knew it I was taking a tour, meeting new people, and dancing on the dance floor.

Then all of a sudden the doors once again opened. It was Auntie Tammy, but she didn’t seem like the same Tammy I met earlier that evening. In fact, she seemed like she had gone bad…. Her face was dark. Her crown was crooked and her warm feeling had gone. Finally she said “Let’s get our karaoke night on!!!”

But, as the girls sang their song the Tamith didn’t laugh at all. She just sat there with a scowl on her face. Once every girl that had wished to sing sang the Tamith rose and bid everyone a good night. My new friends and I were the last to leave the castle.

We started to head for the door but when we tried to open them, they would not open. So we walked back to the room and told the Tamith. “The doors are locked and we can’t get out.” we said in unison.

“Oh my, that is awful. I’m so sorry. Follow me and well get you out.” She replied with a huge grin on her face.

As we walked up the golden stairs I couldn’t help myself but to stare at the beautiful pictures on the wall, and when I looked at Skylar and Clare it also seemed that they couldn’t hold in their excitement either. Before I knew it we were walking down a hall. Then all of a sudden the Tamith stopped and turned around with an evil grin on her face and said, “I hope you like your new home.” She pushed me, Clare, and Skylar into a room and locked the door behind us. Once we turned around we saw something we didn’t expect to see…..

The real Tamith was in the corner tied up with duck tape over her mouth. Without any hesitation we ran over to her and untied her and took the duck tape from her mouth. “Thank you so much. That was my evil twin sister, Darella. She has been after the crown for years. We have to stop her!”

We asked the Tamith if there was anyway out but she only replied to us with a sad “no”. But we were too determined to get out. So we grabbed a chair and ran for the door. We ran strait at the door and it opened!! To our surprise there standing in front of us was the evil Tamith. But we were going to fast to stop and we ran into her. We all went flying down the stairs.

Once we had finally stopped I stood up and groaned in pain. When I looked down I saw an unconscious evil Tamith lying beneath me. We were finally free!!!

Or at least that’s what we thought. I heard the sound of voices shouting. I knew her guards were coming. My friends and I started to pull the unconscious Tamith towards the closet but we were soon taken by surprise.

The Evil Tamith leaped up. Before we could do anything we were in the closet, once again locked in.

As we sat in the closet we wondered if the real Tamith was ok. Did the evil Tamith find her or was she ok? We knew we had to get her out of that other room! We looked around and I found a vent. It wasn’t a big vent but it was just big enough for us to climb through.

I showed my friends and all of us started climbing.  After a little ways of climbing though the vent opened up. I was like a big room! We stopped and took a break. After a little break we headed out again. Finally after peering through many vents we saw the Tamith…..but she wasn’t alone.

She was tied up again but the evil Tamith was with her.

I could see that the real Tamith had fear in her face and that the evil Tamith was enjoying her fear. I felt really bad. She was locked in a room with her arch enemy and sadly she was the one tied up.  My friends and I whispered over how we were going to get her back but we were soon interrupted by the sound of cracking. The vent was going to fall.

We hurried back a ways but it was too late. The vent fell and we landed right on top of the Tamith. We were sure that she was out this time after having 3 girls land on her!

Without hesitation we untied the Tamith and called the police. The evil Tamith was where she belonged...behind bars. The real Tamith was brought to the hospital to make sure that she was ok and my friends and I walked home. I was happy to be out of that castle and ready to stay away from it from now on.

A month later I got a letter from the Tamith.

Dear Elizabeth,

I’m so sorry for all the trouble that you and your friends have had to go through. I just wanted to let you know that I was ok and only suffered for small bruises. My sister is in jail for the next 15 years but I still go and visit her. Anyways, I just wanted to say thanks! What you did took a lot of courage. If you ever need anything just let me know. I will be happy to do anything for you. You saved my life. I owe you big time. Thanks again!

Hope to talk to you soon!

Sincerely,

Auntie Tamith

The next thing I did was wrote a letter:

Dear Auntie Tammy,

It’s ok! I’m happy that you are ok! I just wanted to let you know that I decided to move away from town. I’m now a student at Fairview State College! School is great and I’m doing great! I just wanted to say thank you for everything. I’m now in school majoring in and job as an undercover cop. You opened up a lot of opportunities to my life and I thank you greatly! Thanks again and hope to hear from you soon!

Sincerely,

Elizabeth

After a month of waiting I finally got a reply:

Dear Elizabeth,

That’s great! I guess everything happens for a reason. Thanks to you I decided to hand down my seat at the throne and go and travel the world! My first flight leaves tomorrow 9/13/05. So don’t bothering trying to reply, for I will never get it. I wish you the best luck at school! Maybe I’ll see you again someday!

Sincerely for the last time,

The Tamith

That was the last time I heard or saw the Tamith. I’m now an undercover cop and living in New York City. Life’s good!
